Forbes’ annual list of America’s fastest-growing cities is out and the Seattle area came in at number 7. In compiling the list, Forbes examines not just job, population and economic output growth, but considers how these measures and others come together. It looks back to see which cities grew the most in 2016 and predicts which cities will move ahead in 2017.
For each of the 100 largest metropolitan statistical areas in the United States, growth rates were examined in five key areas:
- Economic output
- Home values
The Seattle area came in at number 7 on the list of 100 with a growth rate of 1.56% for 2016 and the following projected figures for 2017:
- Projected Population Growth: 1.38%
- Projected Job Growth: 2.81%
- Projected GMP Growth: 4.01%
- Projected Wage Growth: 7.53%
- Projected Home Price Growth: 7.55%
